The Adair County Ambulance District is currently accepting applications for full time candidates that is interested in an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) career.
What is an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)?
The primary focus of the EMT is to provide basic emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical system. The individual possesses the basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care and transportation, and functions as part of a comprehensive EMS response under medical oversight. An EMT performs interventions with basic equipment typically found on an ambulance and is a link from the scene to the emergency health care system.
About the Program
- The candidates will be hired as a full-time employee and compensated at an hourly rate. The ACAD ACADEMY EMT TRAINING PROGRAM is a rigorous, fast paced 10–12-week program which, upon completion, will qualify the employee to challenge the National Registry Emergency Medical Technician exam and subsequently become licensed in the State of Missouri. After becoming a licensed EMT you will go through a very extensive orientation process prior to being released to work as part of a two-person team delivering EMS care within the community.
The Right Candidates Must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Have proof of a high school diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License
- Successfully complete the pre-employment screening which includes motor vehicle and criminal background checks, medical exam, physical agility test and drug test.
