Heartsaver First Aid
Course is classroom, video-based, instructor-led course that teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services (EMS) arrives. Students learn skill such as how to treat bleeding, sprains, broken bones, shock, and other first aid emergencies.
Course teaches CPR skills for helping victims of all ages (including providing ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device, and oxygen); use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED); and relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO). One and two-rescuer CPR skills are taught. It’s intended for participants who provide health care to patients in a wide variety of settings, including in-hospital and out-of-hospital. For certified or non-certified, licensed or non-licensed healthcare professionals.
A written and skills exam must be successfully completed to receive certification.
